About a dozen Let’s Stop Aquind members spread among the 100 or so activists gathered in Guildhall Square Portsmouth on the 1st of May to express our objection to Aquind Interconnector. We were able to speak at the Stop The Bill demonstration with speeches to the crowd, we demanded the right to express our objections. We support all those fighting to retain our right to protest – the so-called ‘Kill the Bill’ movement.
Viola gave a summary of our aims, the clear reasons for our objections. Paula focused on environmental concerns. Our leaflets, posters and, of course, the magnificent knitted banner were on display on the Guildhall stairs too. A great effort from all concerned! Thank you.
